Visitors to the exhibition are given a GPS-enabled mobile phone to track their journeys through the city centre. These walks result in individual GPS ‘drawings’ of the visitor’s movements that are then projected live in th

I was goofing off with Google Maps the other day and was trying to find an address in the Speedway area of town. when I zoomed out a bit initially I immediately saw something familiar and not exactly out of place. It’s the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as seen from above, or from a satellite to be more exact. I thought it was really interesting to see everything like it is between races and just realize how much space it really takes up on the map. What an amazing facility to enjoy in our ci

Other times I enjoyed just following the cycle route signs and whizzing down hills to catch up on time I had lost. I paused in Sutton to check the route I was taking when a passer-by asked me for directions. I had a good

Currently available in beta, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 may raise the bar for all web browsers. This may sound hard to believe for die-hard Firefox users… but IE8 really does have some innovative features going for it. For example, there’s the ability to browse in private (without anyone else knowing about it later) called InPrivate… automatic web mapping when your cursor moves over, for example, an address on a website (no copying and pasting required)… and the isolation of tabbed websi

Ubisoft’s upcoming (and ridiculously titled) air combat simulator Tom Clancy’s HAWX will integrate commercial satellite imagery provided by GeoEye’s IKONOS satellite. The two companies announced the joint venture as a way to build hype for the upcoming 2009 release, as well as reassure fans that the game will more than live up to the standards of the Tom Clancy franchise. The GeoEye IKONOS was the world’s first commercial Earth-imaging satellite, designed to provide various clients with high re
